Overview
Seeraga Samba rice is the traditional rice in southern India and is very aromatic. The tiny-grained seeraga samba gets its name from its resemblance to cumin and is the most expensive rice grown. It is very much used for making Biriyani. When cooked properly, seerage samba rice is fluffy and loose.
This rice variant is called Samba annam or Chitti Muthyalu in Telegu, Gobindo-bhog in Bengal, Kaima rice in Malayalam, Seeraga samba in Tamil & Jeera rice in Hindi.
